‘The Wizard’ Brian Coxx is the well-known head honcho of Soulgasm NYC, one of New York’s finest underground haunts. Coxx’s career started with him dancing at clubs like Sound Factory Bar and Vinyl, immersing himself in the culture from a young age, before beginning to get behind the decks himself. Brian’s first release “Soulgasm Sessions – Vol. 1” dropped on ‘Strictly Rhythm’ back in 2009 and led to releases and remixes for the likes of Nervous, Defected and Mr V. Lyceum Social Club is back with another stunning release. The Glasgow label has gone from strength to strength, with just three releases under their belt and already garnering massive support from all corners, the brand new label is showing us that they are a serious force to be reckoned with. For their latest signing, they’ve recruited Affi Koman (an artist the heads will know from Huntleys+Palmers famous free comps) for the ‘Snuggle Monster’ EP. Koman drops an awesome package of two Disco House dancers plus ‘Snuggle Monster’ – An exploration into the weird and wonderful, great late-night stuff.
At the tender age of just 23 years old, exciting young Southern Italian talent Arturo Silvestre aka Atove is already a force to be reckoned with. His musical journey began, age 11, listening to his father’s old dance records and in just 12 years has led to a career as a DJ and artist, touring the globe and spinning his brand of deep and tech-house. An outlet for positive vibes and emotive sounds, South African imprint We Go Deep is the brainchild of producer Luka. Home to the likes of MzJay, Maya Spector & AfroMove, the label has steadily supported and fuelled homegrown talent over the past 5 years, providing a unique platform to discover music in a vast majority of electronic genres, dipping into deep lounge, nujazz, soulful, techno, tribal, electro and more. We caught up with Luka to find out more about the label and what’s coming up next for them.
