Black Motion In 5 Records

South African duo Robert aka Dj Murder teamed up with Thabo aka Smol to form Black Motion in 2010. The two have been in the music production business for about 5 years or so and since their break through single ‘Banane Mavoko’ they’ve had successful releases an remixes on labels like Tribe Records, Nulu, Ocha Records & Shelter Music and they show no signs of slowing down.

To celebrate their latest release ‘Ndinokuda (I Love You)’ out now on Traxsource, Black Motion share 5 important tracks of their career.

1. Black Motion feat. SoulFlow – Mumi Wango (Manoo Remix)

‘Set Me Free’ laid the foundation for us & NULU take note and gave us remix work and released this big hit ‘Mumi Wango’. Manoo’s remix is a dance floor filler.

2. Zinhle feat. Busiswa – My Name Is (Black Motion Ritual Mix)

‘Mumi Wango’ open doors for us to remix ‘My name’ is by Zinhle which got released by NULU. This remix was made up of the new sounds that we were bringing through and it caused major havoc on the dance floor as well and was a hit during the WMC 2013.

3. Sheyi Olagunju & Papy-K – The Edo Messenger (Black Motion Aquarian Mix)

We’re on a journey with our new sound and this can be felt in the Edo messenger.

4. Black Motion feat. Celimpilo – Ndinokuda (Original Mix)

Ndinokuda takes you back to 2010 when we first landed a deal with NULU. They signed a couple of our songs. It has our original raw African native sounds.

5. Black Motion feat. XoliM – Set Me Free (Club Mix)

This was a banger which made people realise and recognise us after our smashing hit ‘Banane Mavoko’. We met a lady Xolile Mazibuko otherwise known as XoliM. This song caught attention of everyone after Carlos Mena released it digitally under OCHA Music.
