Label Spotlight #012 - Global Diplomacy Productions

Global Diplomacy Productions receives our label spotlight this week! Global Diplomacy is Baltimore-based DJ / producer N’Dinga Gaba’s own imprint and plays host to some of the freshest Afro talent around, including Janice B, Groove Cartell and Kerri Chandler-approved Troy Denari. We had a chance to sit down and chat about the label with label manager Azira Zuberi.

Thank you for chatting with us Azira, could you please give us a little bit of background on you, the label and what your influences were & still are?

My Roots are Egyptian… Afro Egypt. I was born in Struga Macedonia in a musician family where playing the violin is still a tradition. I started to work with N`Dinga since I met him in Austria July 2013. At first, I got him a slot to play at the radio station that I was supporting (HSR) in Italy and in 2014 we started the label together. Our first release was Unity Through Sound, Vol. 1. My Musical Influences include: N`Dinga Gaba, Lalah Hathaway, Soul 2 Soul, SOS Band, Alexander O´Neal, Zano, Bucie, Kaytranada, Teedra Moses and many many more! My influences as the label manager include: Listening to the demos that we get checking the quality and the potential of the music. Communication Cooperation and Cohesion with all who are involved and the ones who want to be a part of GDP >>> :) the triple C. We like to Think Global & act local!!

Could you please tell us a bit about what’s coming up for the label?

We have a lot of new young talent coming in 2017 just keep checking and watching our social media for updates!

What do you look for when signing a record for Global Diplomacy Productions? Any tips for budding producers looking to get signed to the label?

Talented producers who Love and Trust in their dreams and who are ready to GO Global with us! To all the producers out there – make your music /demo stand out from the ever growing crowd! Be Unique!
