Label Spotlight #025 - 294 Records
Brazilian House label 294 records are responsible for putting out a steady stream of fresh, funky House records with that Jackin’ flavour. The 294 roster has seen solid releases from the likes of Makito, Angelo Ferreri, Hiva and Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax amongst others, with releases being supported by the likes of Robsoul Records, Mark Farina and J Paul Getto. These guys mean business and we’re stoked to have a chat with them for this week’s label spotlight!
Give us a little bit of background on you, the label, and what your influences were and still are.
I started the label back in 2012 to do something more on the house scene besides DJing. The idea was to release my own tracks but I quickly started doing and enjoying more A&R work. We are mainly a house music label, from disco to tech sounds, we have a bit of it all on our catalog. Since last year we started a few parties around Brazil and we are going to keep expanding this year.
What have been your favorite releases from the label over the years?
These are 5 releases that I really like. I’m a big fan of these artists and it’s always a pleasure having them on the label.
Could you please tell us a bit about what’s coming up for the label?
This year we will release on Traxsource every 3 weeks. We have a lot of different sounds coming up. Disco with Mr. Shandaar, a tech remix from David Glass, jackin house from Kane Ian and Matthew Brian. Also, we will release soon the digital version of our latest vinyl featuring a single from Le Babar, MRKT, Ladybird and also remixes from Opolopo, Gilbert Le Funk and The Checkup. 2017 is our 5th year anniversary and we will definitely celebrate it with something special!
