Traxsource Presents New Music Tuesday (May 27th, 2014)

We kick off the proceedings with the #1 selection. Dutch house producer Gerd debuts on DFTD with 2 distinctive deep & tech gems for the summer months. Definitely deserves it’s place at the top.

Whats Hot This Week

1. Gerd – Still Believe EP (DFTD)

Despite having numerous aliases, the production quality for prolific Dutch house producer Gerd has always stayed the same. Following his 2013 collection of remixes of MK’s ‘Always’, Gerd is back with a two track debut release on DFTD. Gerd collaborates with Marcoradi on the EP’s title track which is based around a classic piano stab chord progression accompanied by a haunting vocal sample. The pair manage to build the track to almost cacophonic extremes before dropping into a delightfully warm bass synth release to start the wild ride all over again. ‘Work Da Tool’ on the other hand sees Gerd back on solo duties. Opening with a classic house sustained string chord, incorporating reggae like vocal samples before breaking into a pumping, bass synth driven, masterpiece, ‘Work Da Tool’ definitely ‘works’ on the dance floor.

2. Richard Earnshaw, Orlando Vaughan – Never Gonna Let You Down (Husky Remixes) (Duffnote)

Three years on from it’s original release, Never Gonna Let You Down gets an Australian make over from Husky (Random Soul/Bobbin’ Head/Salted Music) whilst Earnshaw supplies a freshly tweaked and mixed Rebounce of the Original.

3. Goddam Kids, Kenny Summit, Justin Schumacher – Heisenburger (Good For You Records)

Goddam Kids are back with an underground dance floor burner titled “Heisenburger”. Disco stabs, a throbbing baseline, strings and a 4 / 4 beat that will knock you out of your dancing shoes is maybe the only way to describe this work of art. GODDAM KIDS are the truth. If you don’t know, you better ask somebody!

4. TJ Kong feat. Ovasoul7 – Compost Black Label # 111 (Compost)
