Michele’s latest project with Pete Simpson entitled Staring At The Sun just came out on Traxsource via King Street Records and with that, Michele shares his most 5 influential tracks of his own.

1. Nova Fronteira – Irmao

Whilst doing sessions for Dave Lee/Joey Negro, I played him some of my Nova Fronteira’s Latin influenced early house tracks. He decided to initially release this track on Z Records, soon followed by a few more and an album. Dave did help me to start building a small, but very loyal fan base.

2. Michele Chiavarini – One World

I have been in the business for decades and played on hundreds of records, but believe it or not, this is my first record released under my name. My main ‘Consigliere’ Dave Lee recommended that I get in touch with DJ Spen, as he would be a likely candidate to release this track. I did and Spen indeed was. The song reached #2 on Traxsource, also thanks to an excellent Sean McCabe remix.

3. Brooklyn Soulboys – Fort Greene Jazzmatazz

This track was co-produced with DJ Disciple, who gave me total freedom to channel my musicianship into combining house with jazz. I wrote it and played most instruments. I remember that it was track of the week on Jazz FM, which gave us a great deal of satisfaction. I’ve recently rekindled my love of jazz house by releasing, as Michele Chiavarini and the Jazzcodes, a song called ‘The Music Tells Me’, also on Spen’s Quantize. More tracks in the same genre to come.

4. Michele Chiavarini – Let Me See You (Clap Your Hands)

This has been my biggest record so far (apart from the pop stuff I’ve produced in the past) and it has attracted a new and larger wave of fans. It has also consolidated my working relationship with the talented DJ Spen and Quantize Recordings, for whom I am putting together an album to be released next year. Also Spen has recently given me the opportunity to write for two of his wonderful artists, Sheila Ford and Tracy Hamlin.

5. Michele Chiavarini – Staring At The Sun feat. Pete Simpson

This song features the amazing Pete Simpson, who I met whilst working in studio on various Sunburst Band albums. Hopefully, it also represents the start of another association with a truly legendary label.

Michele Chiavarini latest release “Staring At The Sun” ft Pete Simpson is out now on Traxsource via King Street.
