Dueville, Italy resident Raffaele Calza, aka Raffa FL starting DJing at the tender age of just 14. Fast forward years into his life and Raffa FL is carving out a nice career for himself. On the production front, his original tracks & remixes have been picked up by respected labels such as Lapsus Music, Material, Exotic Refreshment, Nurvous Records, Toolroom & Say Ahh! Records. He is also runs his own imprint ‘Tools and Stuff’, with DJ friends Dirty Culture.

1. What’s your favourite piece of gear in the studio

Definitely My Roland MC 303 Groovebox. It’s so simple to use but so effective when I work with it in my productions. The samples inside sounds so good and well recorded. Baselines are huge also.

2. What are the various ways you use it?

Sometimes I also use it live when I’m playing, using drums sample mostly. But normally I use it as a midi sampler with Ableton or Logic.
