Firstly, thanks for taking the time out to chat with us. Tell us where you are and how you are feeling right now.
Oliver: Just arrived in Ibiza and feeling quite jet lagged at the moment and getting ready to play Amnesia.
Chuck: I am in the studio at the moment cooking up some new beats
Obviously, the topic for today is your “Shout Away” release – Tell us in your words a little bit about how it came to be and what you were trying to convey to your listeners.
Oliver: So the new track is a collaboration with Chuck Daniels. We made it in Detroit when I was staying there. Detroit is amazing and a massive influence in my life musically and was great inspiration for the tune.
Chuck: Our goal was simple, just to make something to move the dance floor.
Oliver, you have just launched your new label, Industry Standard. Tell us why now and your future plans.
Oliver: I’ve actually always wanted to start my own label and finally now it just feels like the right time. The biggest and most important thing for me is quality control- I don’t want to put anything out for the sake of it, only music that I’m really into and feel like everyone else will be too.
Tell us more about the name of the label and what it means?
Oliver: I just loved the sound of the name to be completely honest. It fits perfectly with the ethos behind the label- only wanting to put stuff out of a certain standard… Industry Standard ;)
What can we expect to hear from upcoming Industry Standard releases?
Oliver: Big things…! We have the next few singles lined up and they’re all really great. Watch this space…
What keeps you both motivated after all this time? Tell us about the highs and the lows…
Chuck: Good music keeps me motivated, it’s my passion and I’m not sure I would really be happy doing anything else. With everything in life there are high’s and low’s the main thing is to keep focused and do what you love.
