Underground Berlin record label Katermukke was first founded in 2011 as an in-house imprint for the famous German club Kater Holzig. Unfortunately, the Berlin club has now closed, but the record label continues to go from strength to strength in 2015.

With more than 100 EPs released to date from artists likes of Claude Von Stroke, Teenage Mutants, Umami, Housemiester, and Kid Simius plus their latest release ‘Warning Up EP’ from Edouard out now on Traxsource, we decided to sit down with label boss Dirty Doering is find out which tracks were stand out moments for the label, as we discovered Katermukke in 5 Records

Dirty Doering – Casino Aquatique

This song is the first song that was released on Katermukke, the one where everything started in 2011. Back then I never would have imagined that the label would be where it is now.

Animal Trainer – Pirate Games

Ah, my friends from Switzerland. They released this track in the summer of 2013 on Katermukke and it was a hit! I still remember hearing and playing it everywhere I was that summer and will always keep the legendary parties in Hive (Zürich) in mind. Can’t wait to play there again!

Umami – Sunny

This track was a summer hit in 2012 and until now the Sunny EP is the most successful EP we have ever released on Katermukke. You can expect a new Umami release next year and I’m sure it will be a bomb!

Einmusik & Dirty Doering – Lucid

I still remember the powerful and productive time with my buddy Einmusik in the studio. We had a lot of fun and the product out of this time was a real bomb!

Midas 104 – Eos

There was a guy once working in Kater Holzig, filling up the fridges, supplying the bars with drinks. In his free time he also produced some music and one day he gave me a demo with a couple of tracks. Well, I liked the tracks very much and decided to give this guy a chance. A few weeks later the ‘Eos EP’ was ready and came out on Katermukke. It was a huge success and today Midas 104 is touring around the world as a eligible live act. What a magical story!
