Tripmastaz Fills in the Blanks
Russia may not be the first place you think of when it comes to dance music, but Andrew ‘Tripmastaz’ Guyvoronsky is changing that opinion with his rough and rugged Tech House sound. Haling from Chelyabinsk, Tripmastaz first came to worldwide attention under the expert tutelage of DJ Sneak in 2010, who went on to release 3 of his EPs on his own imprint Magnetic Recordings.
With further release on the likes of Droog’s Culprit, Tiefschwarz’ Souvenir, Real Tone, Be As One and Cecille, Tripmastaz established his own label Plant 74 Records and saw support from such esteemed artists as Maya Jane Coles, Nick Curly and Derrick Carter. After Loco Dice remixed his ‘Roll Dat’ track, it was no surprise to see the Desolat impresario pick up Tripmastaz’s latest 5-track EP ‘Wax Mania’ for his own label.
Having been given the Loco Dice stamp of approval, we can see these five slices of underground house and techno creating serious dance floor damage across the globe; from Russia With Love! We sat down with Andrew to find out a little more about what makes him tick, as we let ‘Tripmastaz Fill in the Blanks’ for Traxsource.
