We think it’s pretty safe to say that 2018 saw the level of competition in the Deep House scene like never before. With so many outstanding producers bringing their A game to the table, the last 12 months have been a truly outstanding year for Deep House music. When it comes to timeless, emotive dance music, no other genre comes close to the irresistible style, musicality and groove of Deep House. This year’s Top 20 Deep House Artists of 2017 is a mix of well-known names and young guns, all of whom are pushing the music forward and developing it in new directions. When it comes to this particular genre, we’re talking emotive House music, that envelops you in a warm glow, that draws on the past but embraces the future, makes no compromise, and is always underpinned by that ever-present 4/4 groove. Russia’s Ivan Latyshev returns to the Dessous roster for the ‘Art of Flying’ EP, an eclectic pair of originals with two well-balanced mixes on the ever-popular Dessous. Deep, Ambient, Punchy and even possessing a spoken word element.

It’s been fashionable to tag the moniker ‘deep house’ onto the end of anything with a four by four beat these days, from commercial Garage tracks to anything featuring a slowed down R&B vocal.
