Vivacious vocals and bouncing beats were everywhere this year, with the more soulful end of the house spectrum finding a new generation of adoring fans in the UK, across Europe to festivals in Croatia, and in Africa as well as traditional heartlands in the USA. A strong channel back to the original New York house scene, the sound has really been going from strength to strength over past few years; it refuses to fade away.
Originally from New Zealand, DJ/producer and keyboardist Mark de Clive-Lowe has long been at the forefront of the Nu-Jazz scene, blending jazz and club music, man and machine. What really sets Mark apart is that his original music and remixes often center around jazz played with real instruments. Releasing on labels from the likes of: Strictly Rhythm, Atjazz Record Company, Fania, & BBE to name a few. Staying true to his practice, Mark now delivers a wonderful remix of Jill Scott & Nils Wulker’s “Worth The Wait” under his own imprint MashiBeats.
This week Doruk Ozlen kicks off hour one with those groovy Soulful beats ft. Azymuth, Mike City, Marc Cotterell and Reelsoul. He’ll be joined by Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe, an alumni of King Street Sounds, Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records among others to supply the second hour of Soulful flavour with new tunes from Opolopo, Marcel Lune, Julian Gomes, Louie Vega and Sean’s new release ‘It Can Be’ on Good Vibrations available now exclusively at Traxsource.
